Provide financial support for API pastors

Many pastors serve their churches in very difficult financial circumstances. The income from their own congregation often does not provide enough money for their daily food expenses. API USA currently provides modest monthly support for the five pastors of the executive team. Our initial goal is to provide a one-time gift for the other pastors to purchase livestock like goats and chickens and a small monthly stipend to help feed their families.

Provide Bibles for API churches

Most people who attend churches in Kenya do not own a Bible. Inexpensive paperback Bibles in English or Swahili are readily available in Kenya and cost about 375 Ksh or $5.00 each. It is one of API USA’s goals to provide sufficient Bibles for those who attend API churches.

Provide study materials for API churches

Pastors in Kenya do not have the means to buy or the access to Bible teaching and study materials, discipleship training materials or Sunday School curriculum. API USA is committed to making these resources available to the pastors and churches involved with API Kenya on an on-going basis.

Sponsor leadership conferences for API pastors and leaders

API USA will provide leadership training to pastors and leaders of Kenyan churches through annual pastors and leaders conferences, and supplying books and teaching materials. Future plans include weeklong, in-depth Bible teaching seminars held twice a year. View details of the 2009 conference here.

Sponsor Bible School training for API pastors and leaders

A few of the API pastors have seminary training but most don’t have any formal Bible training. API USA plans to sponsor one or two pastors each year to attend accredited Bible Schools for further training.

Help build/repair/furnish a church for API pastors

Most churches of API pastors are not permanent structures. They have little security, inadequate seating and other fixtures and equipment to fully function. There is an immediate need to upgrade the doors, windows and locks for most churches so the chairs do not have to be taken home after each service. Others still need materials for walls and roof. New churches will be planted if financial support is available for land, structure, furniture, fixtures and equipment.
