History
The nascent idea to develop Agape Project International USA grew out of a chance meeting between Terri Kruger, wife of Darby Kruger (Founder and Chairman of the Board), and Pastor Milton Sarara of Kenya. They met in the summer of 2000 at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Amsterdam World Evangelism Conference. They served together for three weeks as part of the staff ministering to 10,000 evangelists from around the world. Over the next several years the relationship grew through prayer and regular communication. Darby Kruger and his family traveled to Kenya in 2006 and spent one month with the Sarara family. The following year, Pastor Sarara and his wife, Rachael, traveled to the US and spent one month with the Kruger family.
Pastor Sarara had established a non-profit corporation, Agape Project International, in 1993 that is registered with the Kenyan Government under the Registration of Societies Act. Its purpose is the Christ-centered holistic development of the people of Kenya through the presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and their social-economic, spiritual and educational development. The Kenyan team is a multi-denominational fellowship of thirteen pastors located in western Kenya. They have a leadership team of five pastors led by Pastor Milton Sarara.
Agape Project International USA was founded to bring the people of Kenya to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus through the training of pastors to teach the Word of God and to disciple their people. We will partner with Agape Project International Kenya to provide fiscal, intellectual and corporate resources for a wide range of Christian and humanitarian services. Our priorities include church planting and pastoral development, the development of a regional medical delivery system, primary and secondary schools and orphanages, potable water and waste disposal systems, micro-business projects, children and adult feeding programs and other non-specific Christian and/or humanitarian projects.
API USA is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit religious corporation.
