Pastors2
We finished the conference in Lokichar last Friday with these pastors and church leaders. We were blessed by overcast skies and intermittant rain during the week that kept the temperatures down and very comfortable. While the U.S. team welcomed the cool temperatures, the locals kept saying how cold they were, expecially in the morning sessions, and many had coats and blankets on. I guess when you are used to the high 90's and low 100's, 70 degrees seems a bit chilly!

The thing that stood out to all of us was the lack of movement during the sessions. Virtually none of the attendees were up and moving around during the teaching times. They were all very engaged and listening hard, which led to some very excellent Q & A times.

The questions were very good and revealed close attention to the teachings and a great desire to understand. We closed the conference with a resource handout. We are so thankful for Crossway for providing Global Study Bibles and Conrad Mbewe's book, God's Design for the Church in Kiswahili. We also handed out a Catachism for the Church written by Pastor Tim Bourgeois. This is done in the style of older catachisms like the Heidleberg and others with 100 questions designed to teach the foundational doctrines of the faith.
